Hans was born and raised in New Burg, New York and earned his MBA in Finance from the University of Houston. After serving four years in the Navy, Hans moved to Alaska to pursue a career in communications. This led him to his next career with NASA in the control room for the Apollo missions.
As RPA’s Founder and visionary leader, Hans Banziger is a pioneer in the retirement planning industry. He started RPA in Houston as an employee benefit planning company and in 1969, moved the headquarters to Falls Church, Virginia.
Known as a great strategist, Hans is credited with designing and implementing some of the most successful and beneficial retirement plans that lead the industry as both cost-effective and accurate. He’s led the way for RPA’s expansion in to new markets and continues to provide the vision and strategic point-of-view necessary to keep RPA moving forward.
In addition to directing and growing the fully integrated business, Hans advises on special projects and helps to educate RPA staff on industry best practices.
A Navy veteran of the Korean War, Hans has an MBA from the University of Houston. He also sits on advisory boards of several organizations in the Washington D.C. area.   

RICHARD BANZIGER 

CEO

Richard was born in Anchorage, Alaska and began his career in Retirement Planning and Pension Administration in 1982 after earning a BS in Economics & Business from James Madison University.In the last two decades, Mr. Banziger has served as a principal and senior officer of RPA. As the architect of RPA’s sophisticated Daily Value Recordkeeping System, Mr. Banziger’s leadership and management skills have played a primary role in the company’s success and establishing its status as one of America’s premier full service compliance administration and recordkeeping services provider.Mr. Banziger’s insight, experience and industry knowledge has been sought by some of the nation’s largest insurance companies as he has served on numerous advisory boards for the purposes of assisting in the development of their corporate retirement plan products.Maintaining both an Accredited Pension Administrator (APA) and Accredited Pension Representative (APR) industry certification from the National Institute of Pension Administrators [NIPA], Mr. Banziger continues to bring his broad retirement plan and pension industry knowledge and experience into the nation’s boardrooms.Providing strategic direction is the focus for Richard, as CEO of Retirement Planners and Administrators. Since 1983, he has championed the advancement and expansion of the RPA brand and significantly positioned the company for its next generation of growth by executing a strong plan and vision that delivers results today while positioning RPA for future growth.Richard’s extensive business development experience, collaborative leadership style, and operational expertise have him solidly leading RPA into the future.   

MICHAEL MORIN 

President

As President of RPA, Michael is responsible for taking the company forward through change and growth. Michael is known as a results-driven, highly adaptable team builder with a proven track record of outstanding achievement in creating and developing strategic growth plans. As a leader, he consistently drives business growth all while helping to establish positive corporate culture and strong teams. From sales and marketing to accounting and business operations, Michael provides the blueprint for the continued development and success of the RPA brand.Prior to RPA, Michael spent 35 years in the wireless and tech industries, building growth businesses and managing operations. He led several early stage companies through high growth phases, has led sales of several companies, and acquisitions as well. Michael has a BS in Finance from George Mason University and sits on advisory boards of several organizations in the Washington D.C. area. Michael’s personal time is spent with his family and his dogs doing things they love.

MARK WITKOWSKI

Director of Operations

Originally from Mohnton, Pennsylvania (outside of Reading) I graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in geography.  I moved to Northern Virginia to work at the US Geological Survey as a Physical Science Technician, and shortly thereafter found myself working at Retirement Planners for the next 22 years (as of 2015).  I hold the designations of Accredited Pension Administrator, Qualified Pension Administration, Qualified 401(k) Plan Administrator, and Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent.  I have had many roles at Retirement Planners, met many wonderful people, and looking forward to another 22 years of change and excitement.

BARBARA EICHENSER

Director of Finance

Barbara Eichenser became Director of Finance of RPA in 2014 to establish an efficient and effective accounting and financial reporting system. She is currently responsible for all accounting, treasury and financial reporting functions. A graduate from DePaul University, with over 15 years of finance and accounting experience working in local government, public, private and international companies in a wide array of industries, she spent much of her career helping companies with system and process conversions, process improvements and consolidated financial statements.  Barbara lives in Northern Virginia with her daughter and two rescue puppies.    

HEATHER SEVIER

Sr. Transition Specialist

Heather Sevier began managing client plan transitions for the RPA Client Relations Team in February of 2002. Since that time, in her capacity as our Senior Client Relations Manager, Heather has played an integral role in the emergence of RPA’s industry standing as one of the most efficient, and client friendly, customer relations team in the retirement plan industry. A 1996 honor graduate with a BA in Psychology from George Mason University, Heather’s skills in working with new RPA clients to help design retirement plans that meet the highest standards; that transition smoothly, and simplify the plan transition process to consume the least amount of time necessary for new clients and their advisors, have proven second to none. Prior to joining the RPA Team, Heather’s passion for golf found her working as a golf tournament organizer and coordinator for some very prestigious golf clubs in the Washington DC metropolitan area. Heather’s personal time is spent with her husband and 10-year-old daughter, supporting her daughter’s love of volleyball and horseback riding, while also serving as a senior leader for her daughter’s American Heritage Girls troop.   

MATTHEW AVERY

Director of Business Development

Matthew has extensive industry experience in 401(k) Third Party Administration and Recordkeeping, Trusts and Wealth Management, and Brokerage operations. In this role, he assists with product development and the efficient delivery of quality services to clients. He has an MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute, a BS in Legal Studies from the University of Maryland, University College, and an AAS in Paralegal Studies. He obtained the Qualified 401(k) Administrator designation from ASPPA and the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation from the American Bankers Association.

ALICE BANZIGER

Plan Compliance Analyst

Consulting in the pension administration business for 43 years (1972), she began working part-time during high school with the founders of RPA, Walter (Alice’s Dad) and Hans Banziger (her uncle).  Alice was in Washington, D.C. when the first pension law was signed by President Ford.  That law is commonly known as the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).  The advent of technology and ever-changing architecture of tax and labor law has always been a welcome challenge for her.  She chose to study compliance with IRS and Department of Labor codes.  She has worked with investment brokers, CPAs and attorneys throughout her career, often pointing out the spirit of pension laws, changing perspectives and approaches as to how these expert professionals present their advice.  Alice left RPA in 1986 to pursue her career with several other pension firms. Her achievements include compliance research, communication, maintaining plan documents in written form, database development, employee management, and design of spreadsheets for calculating pension allocations with discrimination testing.  Her journeys of apprenticeship earned her the opportunity to return to RPA. As a person who enjoys both educating and learning, she will listen intently to any issue you may have and endeavor to resolve it in the most expeditious, professional manner possible.  Her calm demeanor honed by years of experience will leave you, your employees and other professional advisers with the opinion of having received quality service.

MAX BANZIGER

Special Projects Coordinator

Max was born and raised in Fairfax County, Virginia and earned his Bachelors in Business Administration from Marymount University. He joined RPA in 2015 and has filled in the roll of Special Project Coordinator. Serving as the associate to the President, Max is responsible for a diverse scope of projects, specifically identifying and driving new initiatives, ensuring completion of short and long-term projects, and representing RPA both within and outside of the company.

CRAIG BOYNTON

Sales Director

With over 28 years of experience, Craig has a proven track record as a retirement plan expert and advisor. He has been providing technical plan design and compliance consulting to plan sponsors, financial advisors and CPAs throughout the Mid‐Atlantic Region since starting his career. Craig is now a senior member of the sales consulting team at Retirement Planners and Administrators (RPA) out of Falls Church, VA. In this role, Craig works closely with brokers and advisors to design plans that meet the unique needs of each Plan Sponsor. Craig is a current member of ASPPA (American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries) and has earned his ASPPA designation of QKA (Qualified 401(k) Administrator). Craig earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Towson State University as a Political Science major in 1987.

Lynn has been in the retirement industry since 1994 and has experience in all types of retirement plans focusing on defined contribution plans.  She graduated from Radford University in Radford, VA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.  She has received her Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) designation and is currently working on her Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) designation from American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA).

Nikki Capri

Retirement Plan Analyst

Nikki has been working in the retirement plan industry since June 2010.  She obtained her QKA designations from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries in 2013.  She graduated from University of Maryland in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.  Nikki lives in New Freedom, PA with her husband, two boys and two cats.

CHUCK CARLSON

Contributions Supervisor

Chuck has been with RPA for over 20 years. He started as an Administrative Assistant and quickly moved through various positions with the company. As payroll supervisor, Chuck handles the daily processing and posting of participant contributions to accounts. He also oversees the set up and importation of participant contributions supplied by our clients. Prior to working at RPA, he held a Manager position for 8 years with Forbes Video, a former video retail chain in Virginia.

DEE CARLSON

Plan Compliance Analyst

Dee has been with RPA for more than 25 years and is responsible for the administration and servicing of approximately 100 small, medium and large 401K and 403b plans.   Proving great customer service to her clients and ensuring that their plans are in compliance with all the rules and regulations are her top priorities. Prior to coming to RPA, Dee was employed as manager of operations for a major insurance company.  Dee’s background in management and customer relations have served well in establishing the relationships she has with her clients.

JANICE CARNEVALE

Administrative Assistant

A part-time receptionist at RPA since 2006, full-time event planner at Bellwether Events, lifelong rescue dog advocate and regular mentor at the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy. A Northern Virginia native with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

AMBER CHOMA

Daily Valuation Specialist

AmberStarr is a Daily Valuation Specialist for RPA. After being raised in Alaska and settling in Wisconsin, Amber attended the University of Wisconsin Washington County and MATC where she enjoyed studying Philosophy, Statistics, and a focus study of Accounting. Amber celebrated becoming Phi Theta Kappa while attending UWWC and volunteers with them to help the community. She also spends her time at the local schools as a parent volunteer. During her studies at UWWC she became an intern in Retirement Services and has enjoyed continued success in this industry since.

GERRY COLMAN

Client Transition Analyst

Gerry joined RPA as the Client Transition Analyst.  He has six plus years of experience in retirement services and over 20 years in financial services as an international derivatives analyst and a mutual funds research analyst.  He is the financial committee chairman of his local church and a graduate from Stevens Institute of Technology.  

 

When he is not biking, Gerry enjoys many other sports and outdoor activities – softball, camping, hiking, boating and fishing.  He is proud to have completed several 150-mile bike fundraisers for MS.

Daily Accounts Manager

Eric handles multiple aspects of the Daily Valuation System at RPA.  His main focus is ensuring all retirement plan contributions are allocated correctly to the plan participants.  Great working relationships with the rest of the “Daily Team” at RPA, allows Eric to focus solely on creating smooth transactions for clients and plan participants. Eric joined RPA straight out of college after earning his BS in Finance from Old Dominion University and he hasn’t looked back.

ALLAN GRESOCK

Director of Plan Compliance

Allan has been in the retirement plan compliance industry since February of 2000.   His work experience includes time working for a retirement trust for a trade association, a third party administration team at a CPA firm, and also working with a company specializing in third party administration work.   He has held a variety of positions, starting as an entry level distribution processor and moving his way up as a customer service representative, a compliance specialist and then into a pension administration role.  He now utilizes his knowledge in all facets of defined contribution plan compliance to manage and lead a team of experienced retirement plan professionals.  He has obtained both a QKA and QPA designations from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries.

SHERRI GREW

Plan Compliance Analyst

Sherri is a Pension Plan Analyst with over 15 year of experience in defined contribution plans.  She has a Bachelor in Accounting from Davenport University.  Outside of work, she enjoys time with her family, her orange cat Dasher (aka Garfield) and yellow lab Willow. Gayle Harper

Plan Compliance Analyst

Gayle has been in the pension industry since 2001 with experience in 401K, 403b and 457 plans. Prior to becoming a Retirement Administrator Gayle’s background included accounting and tax positions with a CPA firm and accounting manager in Legal, Medical, Architecture and non-profit offices. Gayle has a Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) certifications from the American Society of Pension and Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), Tax-exempt and Governmental Plan Consultant (TGPC) from the National Tax-Deferred Savings Association (NTSA) and is an Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA). Gayle lives in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with her husband and 3 dogs.

Brooke started in June of 2019 as a Plan Compliance Associate and works part-time as a cook at Pigeon River Brewery. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician with an Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Globe University. Outside of work, she enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with her friends, family,  black lab Benelli, cat Grover, and chinchilla Chinny.

WENDY HUFF

Daily Accounts Specialist

Wendy started with RPA in 2006, as the receptionist and was moved to the Daily Valuation team three weeks later. She works with new clients to set up their payroll uploads and teach them how to use our Data Validation Center. Wendy proudly holds a BA from LaGrange College in History and Art History. Before coming to RPA, she worked in health care for 7 years.

JANICE KI

Senior Plan Compliance Analyst

Janice has been in the pension business for 22 years, starting her career in 1994.  She started as a trust accountant right after graduating from George Mason University with BS degree in accounting.  A year later, she was elevated into a Pension Administration position.  Looking for an opportunity to grow, she joined RPA in 2005 and has been with the company since then.  She strives to provide the highest level of customer service by listening to the questions and concerns of her clients daily.  Janice has a Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) certifications from the American Society of Pension and Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA).  She’s been a member of ASPPA since 1998.

JEANNE KRAUSS

Senior Plan Compliance Analyst

As a Pension Administrator, Jeanne is responsible for providing administration services to her clients.  Jeanne is known for her exceptional customer service and strong knowledge of plan administration which allow her to assist clients with plan concerns quickly and accurately.   

Prior to joining RPA in 2012, Jeanne spent ten years in the industry working as a pension administrator and training specialist for another third party administration company. Before that Jeanne spent seven years in the U.S. Air Force and then, as a military spouse, held numerous positions with multiple private companies in different locations.  

Jeanne has a BS in Business Management from University of Maryland College, has received her Qualified 401(k) Plan Administrator (QKA) certification from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries, and is an active member of the Girl Scouts organization and her church.

JACKIE LEVY

I started in the retirement plan industry 9 years ago.  Prior to that, I attended college at Loyola University in Chicago, IL.  I’m currently working towards receiving my QKA certification.  Outside of work, I enjoy spending time working out, walking/hiking (with my dog, Enzo), and biking. Maritza has been in the pension administration business for 18 years, the last 9 years with RPA and previously with another pension company in Florida.  She obtained a Business Administration degree in Lima, Peru.  She completed courses with the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA) and has an English Composition degree issued by the Broward Community College (Florida).  Prior to coming to the USA, she worked in the aviation and administration business in Lima. Jennifer’s areas of expertise include compensation testing and cross-tested allocations.  She has more than 16 years of experience working in the retirement plan industry and is a Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA), a designation sponsored by the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries (ASPPA).  Jennifer earned a BA in Business Management and an MBA in Finance, both from Concordia University Wisconsin.  She lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin her husband and two young children.

BUCKET LIST: In 2014, I achieved an item to cross off my bucket list. Taking a cross country road trip from San Francisco, CA to my new home twenty miles west of Hilton Head, SC. The goal was to see as much of the country and arrive ahead of the moving company. Having beautiful spring weather, covering eight states in seven days and travelling over 3000 miles, the goal was achieved.  I experienced Yosemite, Las Vegas, Mojave Desert, and Crater in Winslow. The Grand Canyon, a section of the old Route 66, Hoover Dam, Lake Meade, Albuquerque, Amarillo, Dallas, Birmingham, Atlanta, and final destination home in the south.
